The Administration and Information Technology Section on St Lucia and Gatton campuses provides general clerical and administrative support for the whole division including human resource management, financial management, budget development review and monitoring and general policy and planning advice to the Director on all management matters. The Section also manages the University's UQ Centre.

The Quality & Web Administrator produces a quarterly newsletter, Property Press, on behalf of the Division, which is distributed to the University community plus Facilities Management Sections within all Australian and New Zealand Universities.

Some of the key functions of the Section include:

Quality Management System (QMS)

Property and Facilities has been certified by NATA Certification Services International (NCSI) against the requirements of the International Standard AS/NZS ISO 9001:2000. The system includes the management of the internal audit process, feedback/ideas system (non-conformance system), document development and control of all divisional procedures, forms and contract documents.

Human resource management of approximately 310 P&F staff which includes:

      »  

recruitment and selection;

»

industrial and employee relations;

»

staff development;

»

induction and training; and

»

processing personnel systems (e.g. timesheets, leave, overtime, allowances and worker's compensation claims).

Financial management of all Property and Facilities Division accounts which includes:

      »  

reviewing, developing and advising on all financial matters for the Director, Property & Facilities

»

managing accounts payable and receivable - University payment cycle

»

budget development and review - monthly statements;

»

purchasing and processing purchase orders;

»

processing claims, cheques, equipment/accession sheets; and

»

managing bank guarantees and Building Industry Portable Long Service Leave.


Clerical support includes all aspects of office administration (e.g. records management, reception tasks, photocopying, faxing, typing, air fare and accommodation bookings, ordering of office equipment and supplies, and internal mail distribution).

Information Technology includes management of the P&F computer network (hardware and software) systems and support.

UQ Centre -  the UQ Centre is a multifunction premier venue used for graduations, ceremonies, exhibitions, conferences, banquets, lectures and cultural and sporting events. The UQ Centre is available for hire to a wide range of community groups, organisations and associations.
