There will be some disruptions around the Abel Smith Lecture Theatre site. The interior of the lecture theatre is currently being refurbished - adding more toilets (male, female and disabled). It will also be reroofed - new colorbond steel roof. The rain water will be collected and used for flushing toilets plus used in the landscaping around. We are also installing new Audio Visual equipment. Expected completion date July 2008.

Construction has begun on the General Purpose North 4 (GPN4) project. Comprising 6 levels, this 10,500m2 (GFA) building will be located on the site north of Duhig Central (previously Central Library building) and bounded by University Drive and Campbell Road. Once constructed, the building will accommodate the Institute of Continuing & TESOL Education and 2,500m2 (UFA) of centrally controlled teaching space. Using Acrobat Reader version 7, visit our web link, www.pf.uq.edu.au/images/ConstructionProjects/00_master_model.pdf, which will allow you to view and rotate the model of the building. You will need to use the propeller shaped icon to rotate the image.
Parking & Traffic: As part of this project, parking will be permanently removed from the gravel carpark and adjacent kerb side parking in both University Drive and Campbell Road. The initial early works package will mean access into Campbell Road will be closed to non-essential traffic as new and relocated services are located into Campbell Road. During this time pedestrian access will be disrupted. For further information on alternative parking options please access the UQ Traffic and Parking website www.uq.edu.au/parking.
