Pay & Display Machines

    Pay and Display machines accept payment by credit card and coin.

    Pay & Display machines do not give change and it is the users' responsibility to tender the correct fee when purchasing a Pay & Display ticket.

    At the St Lucia campus note changing machines are located on level two of the Conifer Knoll carpark (P11) and in the UQ Centre carpark (P10, under building 27A).

What type of casual/visitor parking do you want?

14P Daily - All Day Flat Rate

A Pay & Display ticket must be purchased from machines within the carparks and displayed on the dashboard with details visible from outside the vehicle.

14P Daily parking is available in the following locations:

  • P7 - Keith Street carpark,
  • P8 - Oval-6 carpark (opposite the Athletics track),
  • P9 - Rugby carpark (near the Boatshed roundabout),
  • Sir William MacGregor Drive.

The 14P Daily pay & display ticket is only valid in 14P Daily zones, and may not be used in other parking areas, except after 5pm. See Relaxation of Rules.

14P Daily parking areas at St Lucia and Herston are indicated on the parking maps by the colour dark purple.

A 14P Daily zone ticket purchased at Herston may be used at St Lucia on the same day it is issued.

How much does this cost?

 

14P Hourly parking

A Pay & Display ticket must be purchased from machines within the carparks and displayed on the dashboard with details visible from outside the vehicle.

14P Daily parking is available in the following locations:

  • P10 - UQ Sport Aquatic Centre carpark (entry from Union Rd, or by driving thru UQ Sport Synthetic Field carpark,
  • P10 - UQ Centre carpark (entry from Union Road),
  • P10 - UQ Sport Synthetic Field carpark (entry from Sir William MacGregor Drive),
  • P6 - Mill Road carpark,
  • P12 - Campus Kindy carpark (off College Road),
  • and along Blair Drive (adjacent the Tennis Centre).

14P Hourly parking areas are indicated by the colour light purple on the St Lucia parking map.

The 14P Hourly Pay & Display ticket is only valid in 14P hourly zones, and may not be used in other parking areas, except after 5pm. See Relaxation of Rules.

How much does this cost?

 

1½P - Time limited parking

1½P time limited parking (1½ hour max) is available in Campbell Road and University Drive. A Pay & Display ticket must be purchased from machines within the carparks and displayed on the dashboard with details visible from outside the vehicle.

How much does this cost?

Inserting more than the maximum fee will NOT extend the 1½-hour maximum limit. The fee is charged at an hourly rate.

After 6:00pm each evening the time restriction ceases and patrons may purchase a ticket for the whole period between 6:00pm and 9:00pm or for a part thereof. The fee is calculated at the same hourly rate.

1½P parking areas are indicated by the colour yellow on the St Lucia parking map.

Motorcycle Parking

The 1½ P, 14P Hourly and 14P Daily Pay & Display tickets are valid in motorcycle parking areas. It is suggested that the rider writes his/her registration number on the pay & display ticket before displaying it on the bike. Motorbike Zone

  • Motorcycles must be parked in valid motorcycle parking zones only.
  • Motorcycles may not be parked in parking bays assigned for cars in any zone on all University sites .
  • This condition applies at all times, not only during the hours of paid parking.

Where are motorcycle areas located?

Undercover motorcycle areas are available:

  • P11 - levels 1 & 2 of the Conifer Knoll Carpark
  • P10 - beneath the UQ Centre (Building 27A),
  • P1 - under the Warehouse complex (Building 99),
  • Sir James Foots Building car park (Building 47A)
  • P3 - Multi-level Carpark (Building 98B), and
  • below the Ritchie Laboratories (Building 64A).

 

Scratch-It Permits

Faculties, Schools, and other organisational units can pre-purchase purple or orange Scratch-It permits for their visitors.  The purple Scratch-It is valid in 1½ P, 14P Hourly and 14P Daily parking areas, and the orange Scratch-It is valid in the Multi-level Carpark (P3 & P4) and in Conifer Knoll Carpark (P11).

Permits are valid for one day only.

Relaxation of Rules

After 5.00pm each weekday afternoon, Staff Permits and valid Pay & Display permits (tickets) authorise the holder to move their vehicles to either 1½P, 14P Hourly and 14P Daily parking zones or Service & Maintenance bays/zones.
